For all the rigor of USMMA academics, the real strength of Kings Point is in the character-building strength of its extra-curriculum. Unlike the self-preoccupation demonstrated by many undergraduates at "normal" colleges, midshipmen learn early on to both recognize that stress is not something to be feared. Rather, by the end of Plebe year, the average Kings Pointer has discovered resources upon which he/she will draw during the decades ahead.
