Do not expect this to be your typical grass-quad, tree walkway kind of campus.. because for one, it isn't really a campus. there's a lot of confusion within it because of all the buildings being old and attached together so it's hard to distinguish between which building is which without having a map. thank goodness for all the huge signs painted on the walls and above doorways to let you know which building you're entering.

do not stay on this campus past 9pm, and if you do, make sure you're not alone. the campus is in the heart of downtown Atlanta and frankly, there are a lot of bums and crazy people that walk around the area when it's deserted, so make sure you have the GSU Police phone number on hand.

be aware that atlanta has a huge african-american population, so GSU will definitely give you a good dose of it. i say this half-sarcastically because it means that pretty much all your culture on campus is going to come from the african-american community. which is fine if no other culture is willing to give their share, but it does get kind of alienating when you're not into rap or like looking at half-naked women on the club invitations handed out to you based on your looks.

if you have asthma or other breathing problems, don't ever be out on the courtyard during the peak afternoon hours. people in the city absolutely love to smoke. there are cigarette bums littered on every piece of concrete, ash spots, and even special trash cans for them. there's no point in asking them if they could step away either; they'll just look at you, scoff, and drag away. i'd say if you're not on the HOPE scholarship or into a specific offered only at GSU, take your money elsewhere and get a better campus experience, especially if you're already from metro georgia~
