Cornell is the most diverse school in terms of student backgrounds. There are kids who didnt have amazing SAT score but do have a niche in some area which I find to be very good. You do not lose anything by applying. And that goes for any school you are looking at. The admissions committee looks through every piece of your application so make sure you stand out.
