I was really scared about going to college. Choosing the right school for me had been a difficult process and over the summer I kept worrying about if I had made the right choice. But I am absolutely positive Colgate is the school for me. In my first year I made some excellent friends and I feel like I've accomplished a lot more than some of my friends that went to other schools. Colgate was really great about keeping the freshmen busy during the first week of school and I quickly overcame my homesickness. Colgate really provides for its students and I feel like they genuinely care about each and every student. The campus is beautiful and even when it is cold and snowy out, I still really enjoyed being at school.

On another note, one of my major concerns before going to school was the drinking on campus. But the whole scene can easily be avoided, so if that is one of your concerns do write Colgate off of your list. There really are a lot of things to do on and off campus (the Barge, Turning Stone casino, Syracuse mall, the movies, just hanging out).
