Understand that, unless you select your courses solely on the basis of difficulty level, and even if you do, the academics are very hard. Other elite schools are difficult, but quite a few intermediate level, gateway courses at Swarthmore are more challenging than comparable courses seem to be anywhere else! It is not uncommon for material taught in an intermediate level course to reach what would be the graduate school level at the University of Pennsylvania.
