Brooklyn College is a wonderful institution of learning. The course work is challenging, especially for pre-meds and the faculty is helpful for the most part. My advice is to try and get a good GPA in your freshman and sophmore year because by the time you reach Junior year where you have to do organic chemistry (with Howell- God bless your soul) you might want to commit suicice because orgo will pull your GPA to the gutters. Thats the disadvantage with taking a five credit class. The library is perhaps the most beautiful aspect of brooklyn college and the library cafe is great too nd open 24hrs. Doing poorly is no excuse at Brooklyn college because resources are available at the tip of your fingers. Any brooklyn college graduate should be really informed.there are so many core classes one has to do ranging from classics to philosophy as well s CPE and speech class. Academically, the school is superb. However, the downside is the social aspect sucks at times. EVERYONE commutes so it is hard sometimes to find good friends so most people walk around lonely at first. Advice, is join a club and you will meet more friends than u can ask for and then u will start loving the school. All in all, this school is a good pick if u dont care about on campus living. I do ( which is my only regret)
