If you come in as a transfer student, living off-campus, it will generally be difficult to fit in, meet people, and be involved in the social and party scenes. Even if you're outgoing. MICA students bond really fast and create a very insular community amongst themselves, which the school encourages, that if you aren't in on in the beginning, is very hard to get in on later. There also are very few resources for commuting students, all of campus life, classes and any other types of scheduling (snow days, etc) are planned based on people living within walking distance of the school. It's a good school, just not really a fun school. Which I know well since I went a couple other places before going there.
