Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
Mizzou is not the best engineering school but has a lot of little things that can make your undergrad experience amazing! UG Research is one of the best in the country. The engineering school is very supportive of extra-curricular activities and very relaxed…we took a school RV to Kansas State for a football game once! Our engineering student council was voted the best student council in the country in 2004-2005. Although most students here are just average, you will find super geniuses too! Faculty is not the greatest but again there are exceptions! Like at any school, you must be willing to work hard and make the best of the opportunities available to you. For the guys, Mizzou girls are incomparable (I've been to Minnesota, Purdue, Texas A&M, Wash U, MIT, Pittsburgh, IA State, OK State and many more)For city dwellers, Columbia has somewhat of a small-town feel…tons of country music stations, but relative to the rest of Missouri, seems to be pretty liberal. One last thing, if you are a hard working kid who wants to attend an elite school for grad studies, Mizzou could be one of your best bets. From my class of 63, about 10 are going to grad school…the destinations include MIT, Johns Hopkins, Caltech, Notre Dame and Mizzou.
