Major: Psychology (This Major's Salary over time)
K-State is, for several types of people, a great choice for a university and depending on your level of involvement, an experience you will never forget.I met some of the most amazing people that I have ever met in my life at K-State, and enjoyed some of the best parties of all time. That said, this is what it's like:1. Small town: I am from San Diego, and fell in love with Manhattan upon visiting. However, activities are limited and you will find yourself going to the same couple of places and doing the same couple of things over and over again. If choosing between a few restaurants and bars time and time again does not bother you, then Manhattan will probably be to your liking. If you're creative, you can create other things to do (trips to the lake, Konza prairie, and such)2. School experience: Nothing extraordinary, but certainly not crummy by any means. Some challenges, some great professors, some high-schoolesque classes. 3. Social Life: This is the element that sets your K-State experience apart from any other four years of your life. First recommendation: Greek life. I myself am about as opposed to frat boys and sorority girls as you can get, but K-State has a very unique system, free of snobbery and stupidity (for the most part) and definitely gives you another facet to your collegiate experience. Also, K-State is very involved in sports. Basketball and football are other ways to make lasting memories. Even if you're not particularly into sports, they are a good experience to share with friends. The fitness center ("Rec") is really nice, the library is beautiful, and road trips can be taken in almost any direction to see beautiful scenery and reach larger cities. That said, most of the student body is from Kansas, and they are friendly, warm, wonderful people. If you are reading this and you are from Kansas, but would like to live elsewhere someday, let me encourage you to explore out-of-state schools. It's easy to go where your parents went or where your friends are going, but there is a great big world out there.
