Date: Sep 14 2006 Major: Unknown (This Major's Salary over time) I am a current student and I cannot believe the previous post which just went up a few minutes ago. It states my thoughts exactly. I am very disappointed but I do not feel I can leave because my parents would be angry. I want to be an independent thinker, not an argumentative drone. There is just an uneasy feeling here that you have to be this particular mold. The concepts are extremely idealist and unrealistic. It is almost a joke, but most people fall for it. It is an expensive school and many a lot of the students are snobby, not financially necessarily, but morally. In their minds they are completely perfect in thought and action which drives them to make fools of themselves outside of the bubble. I really want out of this place. I am not a lesbian or bisexual. I think the comments of denying who you are is an interesting way of putting it. It is unhealthy environment but oh so common here. This Fake Gay thing really exists. One person I know became a diehard lesbian for a few years and really pushed it, but never came out to her own family. It was her Holyoke Persona. I ran into her 2 years later married to a man. She said she wasn't and never was a lesbian. Tons of girls claim to be bisexual and never date another woman once they graduate. I am ofcoarse very pro-any orientation (you are not allowed otherwise), but this psychological problem that exsists here is just strange. You don't get to be who you really are. Scary.
