Major: Communications (This Major's Salary over time)
After transferring from the honors english program to Alverno's Professional Communications program I was plesantly surprised at the challenging nature of the curriculum. While I felt that UWM was barely challenging Alverno's integrated learning approach forced me to DEMONSTRATE my understanding of the materials taught rather than testing my recall and ability to take a test.A major factor in my transfer to Alverno was the weekend college program which is attended primarily by adult students. What a refreshing change - we are expected to take responsibility for our own learning in accelerated classes. The professors do not babysit us or give us busywork. BUT there are plenty of ways to achieve an unsatisfactory in the program and only yhose dedicated to completion will graduate. A top notch communications program for adult women returning to school. I recommend it.Kim KasperDec. 2006 Grad
