Major: Art & Design Department (This Major's Salary over time)
Unfortunately, CCAD's educational experience failed to live up to it's reputation, and especially, it's price. I graduated the Time Based Media Studies department. Despite weighty lab fees, they failed to provide 24 hour lab access to the equipment, closing as early as 8pm on weekends. The overwhelming majority of the faculty had insufficient or even no professional experience. Incompetence is a major issue with a lot of the faculty. After a year if freelancing on my own, sadly, I already have exceeded the abilities of most who teach in the department. When I was attending, there were also large numbers of wasteful requirements that severely impeded my ability to focus on developing a demo-reel. Some requirements are taken 2 or 3 times each, with the exact same course material, but concealed under different curriculum titles. In addition, the job placement program is severly misrepresented to incoming students. It is non existent, literally. Any students achieving success after graduation do so utterly without the aid of CCAD. I wrote a polite letter to the department along with several other alumni addressing some of our concerns, and no response was made to us.
