Major: Unknown (This Major's Salary over time)
ACADEMICS:The level of academic difficulty largely depends on the major. The engineering, business, health sciences, and computer science programs are substantially more challenging than the liberal arts programs offered in the College of Arts and Sciences. Pre-professional and tech majors are constantly studying. By contrast, liberal arts majors have a lot more time on their hands. This is not to say that you won't be challenged as liberal arts major; rather it's just that you have to do some more leg work to seek out the more challenging classes. But if you really want to challenge yourself as liberal arts major, you could join the Honors Program which has a much heavier workload than the standard curriculum. Level of difficulty by program:1. Honors2. Engineering3. Computer Science/architecture/hard sciences4. Pharmacy/nursing 5. Liberal arts majors6. CriminologyNOTE: The inside word is that the entire curriculum at Northeastern is in the process of being revamped for all majors. The new curriculum will be SUBSTANTIALLY MORE CHALLENGING than the current one (probably equivalent to what Honors is now). The new curriculum goes into effect in 2008. So those of you, who are liberal arts majors, enjoy your extra free time while it lasts. Overall, Northeastern is a great school that is only getting academically stronger.
