Ramapo is an excellent NJ State College! Although I preferred the old curriculum instead of the new CEP. Ramapo students are mature and tend to be more engaging then students at fancy schools. Kids at Ramapo really are so much chill then kids at private colleges. This is good because Ramapo students reflect real world practicalities. It really prepared me for my further education. Ramapo kids complain alot but maybe because we are Jersey kids, who knows?

However this passion makes the college so much better! The school really moldes when students take action. Ramapo is a great example!

The only set back was that it is a cash strapped public college. The catch is Ramapo do have really have bad programs. Notably Business, simply because it is not really an undergraduate major and business itself is NOT liberal arts ;) and also psuedo-university majors like Communications.

However Ramapo has a very healthy vibe. The strenght of Ramapo is that it is liberal arts. Meaning people take subjects they thought they would never have done and turn broaden there horizons. Also the knowledge learnt from different subjects enables greater understanding of own discipline.

For all of those current or future students, speaking from an ex student the amount of diversity, closeness with professors, and liberal arts education will give you an edge! Trust ME! I am attending an Ivy Clone right now and the academic atmosphere is so embarrassing. Remember name brand schools tend to attract more blaze students. However schools like Ramapo attract Realistic, Mature and decent/interesting students!!!

Basically most people here have experienced one school and can't really compare but I have experienced other undergraduate institutions and the Name Brand, top 20, national research, ivy clone, high endowment, college is a waste of my time and Ramapo really prepared me. Almost to the point of making me look pretentious compared to these prep school, ivy clone educated kids. Ramapo is not perfect but it changed my life.

Not to mention it is in the best state with the coolest people ever!

Has the coolest views! Professors are not as snooty as at most other name brand schools. Meaning quality of education is greater at Ramapo!

I hope it continues to stay small and attract dedicated faculty and an administration that will promote greater emphasis of the liberal arts!!!
