Coming to WPI, I was very optimistic. I came in expecting a school where I could graduate and immediately have a good job straight of school, but I was also expecting to have at least a little bit of fun while doing it.

First of all, I must say the social life at WPI flat out sucks. The city of Worcester sucks, there is absolutely nothing to do, and crime is rather rampant (my friend's car was stolen from the parking lot directly behind my dorm). Since the city is uninviting, and sketchy (at best), there's nothing to do except drink/do drugs. The student population is 25% female, which makes things bad, and not a single WPI girl is attractive, which makes things worse. To overcome both these problems, students and faculty generally spew out the same advice "join a frat".

I took this advice, and I will admit it was fun…at first. After a while you pretty much end up attending the same party over and over again with the same exact guys, and the same gross slutty girls from assumption/worcester state/holy cross. It's actually kind of gross, frat guys all try to get a girl at all the surrounding schools, and then they "share the girl" with the frat. In fact, any time someone mentions the name of a girl from a neighboring school at least three brothers will say "oooh I did somthing with her." Frats at WPI are basically just breeding grounds for alcoholism, depression, and STDs.

Classes aren't so bad…I skipped alot, and didn't really study, yet I held a steady 3.5 GPA. One thing I really did not like was the class sizes. WPI's ads constantly brag about how small classes are, and how many faculty members it has, but these claims seem unfounded. In the two terms I was at WPI, 4 of my classes had 100+ students, while only 2 had less than 30 students. In fact the only classes you can expect to be moderately small are the math classes. Typically, calculus classes consist of about 25 students, which is good I suppose, except of the 20+ teachers of freshmen calculus maybe 3 speak fluent english. Most of the time, if you ask a freshmen who his/her math teacher is, they will respond with somthing like, "the asian guy", "the indian guy", or "the eastern european guy".

WPI has about 2000 undergrads…about 1500 are male. 500 of the students are ugly females. WPI is basically like my high school, only with way more nerds, and absolutely no attractive girls. It's basically a prison, only with worse food, and more body odor.
