Just a clarification- Barnard is NOT a member of the Ivy League. Yes, it is affiliated with Columbia, and yes, Barnard students can take some classes with Columbia students and vise versa, HOWEVER, Barnard is not now and never has been an Ivy League school. Barnard is significantly easier to get into than Columbia, and Barnard students are NOT able to take the core classes required by Columbia (a set of classes in five core academic subjects- the basis of a Columbia education) with Columbia students. Additionally, though we would all like to believe that we don't care about labels, it's not where you go but what you make of it, etc., etc., just in case you do care, just a little, tiny bit about the ignorant, unwashed masses and their preconceived, half-baked notions of colleges, a Seven Sisters degree just ain't quite an Ivy, no matter how many Columbia classes you take.
