Major: Chemistry (This Major's Salary over time)
I came to this school thinking it would be just like the brochure said; one on one meetings with faculty, interesting classes, blah blah blah. "Classes" so far have been mindless lectures-I am a Chemistry major, so it is not surprising, but my Philosophy class consisted of the instructor spoonfeeding us information about the excerpts of philosophical texts. The College also has a "First Year Seminar" which is a good idea, but not carried out very well. Overall, this is an average liberal arts school; not as special as they would have you believe. Now. About the social scene. Well…it gets old after about two weeks. There is a very sharp divide between drinkers and non-drinkers. The athletes and Greek people are condescending and arrogant for the most part, which is exactly what I expected. (Note: I did give Greek life a chance, i.e. rushing, and they are as vapid as you may have heard.) Good advice? Don't go unless you want to be in an idiotic Greek organization or if you are playing a sport. Cheers!
