Having the benefit of looking back 20+ years, the College of Wooster was a fantastic experience that I would gladly repeat. Yes, theire are more glamourous, hip, cosmopolitan schools. No, it is not as well known as Stanford or Harvard. However, my years at the COW gave me a chance to figure out who I was and where I wanted to go in life while getting a fantastic education. Student-professor interaction was great. No teacher's assistants yammering away in a lecture hall full of 350 sleeping freshman.

Wooster's Independent Study (I.S.) program, while challenging, is a unique and rewarding experience. If done properly, it will teach you something about yourself and help you develop skills you can use your entire life.

Social life can be what you make of it. True, the Greek system has a heavy influence. It does on many college campuses. Is Wooster a party school situated in the midst of happening urban nightlife scene? Not on your life. Will you make lifelong friends and have some of the best times of your life? Depend on it, if you have decent social skills and know how have a good time.

If you are looking to go to a "name" school to impress your friends, or tack at the top of your resume, Wooster is not for you. If you want an education that is second to none, in an environment a bit insulated and relaxed from the hustle of the "real world", you won't find a better school. Highly recommended.
