Major: Computer Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
This is my fourth semester as a Computer Maintenance student. I am originally from Dallas, TX, and the first thing I noticed about Waco is that there is NOTHING TO DO. This town is probably the most boring place I've been. And it's an hour and a half from Dallas and Austin, so driving somewhere to have a night of fun isn't very efficient. Most of the fun around here is house parties and such. This school does give lots of industry preparation and experience in my major, but there are some classes that really do not apply to computer maintenance at all. Most of the teachers are very helpful and informative, even with issues not related to the class/curriculum. I am invlolved with SkillsUSA (formerly VICA), and we do normally receive top rankings at national competitions. The people here are generally friendly, but there is an insane amount of crime on campus. Police are always patrolling, but it doesn't seem to help. People get their houses/cars robbed all the time. You pretty much just have to watch your back around here. Besides the cafeteria (which doesn't have very good food), there isn't much food around. There's a chicken place down the street, but anything else, you would have to go a few miles down the highway. This is overall a decent college to go to, as long as you have your own car and don't live on campus. Money for beer is good to have, also.
