some professors are very helpful, dont get it wrong. but the majority of the ones in my department act like we owe them,they are the best, and are not very helpful. soem are so arrogant they will trash your project and ask why you are here. others will refuse to help you if you ask a question by simply saying, well just make a push for tomorrows class. i learned a lot in my first year alone. theres much more i continue to learn. i feel i know a lot and i owe it to many people, but for the most part my stay here is a huge downer. the students in the arch program all are cut throats, and some try to take all the credit for projects or do all the work then say other group members did nothing. professors certainly have their favorites, and if you are a girl all you have to do is put in some effort and smile and you will be ok. rosalie ezekiel's studio was a lackluster experience for one. some other professors, like in other departments are excellent, it is just the studio critics you need to watch. the course is very demanding, and challenges you.

other classes become very difficult because of being totally exausted from studio. do you know that feeling you get when you put everything you have into your project, you know its good, your professor likes it, but still doesnt give you a fair grade? it drives one to such things as depression, alcoholism, and self loathing. its the quality of life around here. most students have jobs to keep up with paying their tuition, but professors mostly cannot understand that and i have had them say to me and my peers on several occasions not to work. ok, so the school can screw us even more by not giving us FINANCIAL AID as well as taking away our medial income? !!!!unless you are black, indian, or an international student, dont expect ANY financial aid from these left wing tightwads.!!!!!!! the public safety is always approachable and does a great job. the food service is a total rip off, one of the main reasons i live off campus now. res life totally sucks, not worth it for a tiny room. fire drills in the snow and announcements that wake you up ruin your sleep. when i was a freshman i couldnt sleep during the day if i was up all night because there was construction right under my window. newark is a total crapshoot. the only good thing is going to the fraternities, but now the school has a plan with the mayor to take them over. quality of life is awful, and the deans act like they care but they dont/
