Where can I begin about my experience at SUNY New Paltz? Let me start off by first explaining the fact that as a transfer student, the school offers absolutely NO opportunities for adjusment. They could at least have a new/transfer student club or organization or something. I found that the people here are generally unfriendly. Unapprochable in fact. They are VERY cliquey and if you don't enter this school as a freshman, good luck trying to make friends, unless you join a sorority or frat. Most of my professors were boring and that made me highly unmotivated to get up and go to class. Also, you may think the new Lenape and Esopus halls are beautiful and clean, but take it from someone who lived in Lenape, it is NOT worth the 15-20 minute walk to CAMPUS everyday. For what it's worth the best thing about Lenape Hall is the bathrooms. The town is OK but I think it's overrated. FOr what it's worth you can just stay in your tiny little Long Island or upstate town and hit the bars up there. It's the same thing because you'll just end up seeing everyone you know out at the 3 town bars anyway, because there is nothing else to do around here. As for food, it is what it is. Hasbrouck Dining Hall is your typical college garbage and the SUB is slightly better fried grease. It's sad to say that I really hate New Paltz. I feel like I could have enjoyed it had I been able to meet people who look at me in the eye for more than two seconds. Straight up, don't come here. You want an overly liberal arty-fartsy school, try Purchase. At least the student body there was somewhat friendly.I HATE THIS SCHOOL.
