1. Going to USAFA was the worst mistake of my life. Not that it's a bad institution necessarily, but it will handcuff your future in many ways. Overall, I felt it has hurt me, and I could have been much happier otherwise.

2. I wish I had known it wasn't that special and much of my time would be wasted. Room inspections and the endless briefings (especially the later) are both depressing and wasteful. There's a great amount of hypocrisy among cadets and officers that clouds the moral luster of USAFA.

4. A prospective student ask themselves: do I want to be an Air Force pilot? If so, USAFA is probably your best shot. Otherwise, you can become an Air Force officer through many other means, with less time commitment and more possibilities to determine your future.
