After reading the comments below, I felt I should chime in. I am a freshman here, and I was afraid that I wouldn't find much in common with the other kids here. I had heard the party stigma and was afraid I would fall into the IV oblivion. This is not the case! The thing is that the party is available to you all the time, day or night. And believe me, it is an awesome experience. However, it is not difficult to avoid! There are other activities available and other places to live if you really don't like that kind of social life. And believe it or not, there are kids here who do not party and prefer to just hang out with friends. It is true that the classes here can seem very large, yet a lecture is a lecture. No matter what the size is, it is not a discussion. There are class discussions once a week where student participation is encouraged, so both academic styles are available to you. Many people on this website have claimed this place isn't academic enough, however we are at a top public University. The statistics about our school do not lie, and the fact that we still have time to toss around a Frisbee on a nice day does not mean our academic integrity is compromised.
