It seems like everybody is writing similar comments, but I can say without a doubt that Binghamton is what you make of it. If you got into GWU, Cornell, UVA, or any other private university, don't expect Binghamton to reflect the same image; its a public school, and it shows. People are very friendly, and one might say that the most social dorms on campus are in the newing community. Professors are not helpful, and as intellectual or outgoing as you think you are, you are a number. Half the time in lower level courses, your work is always graded by a T.A with little to no experience in the subject they're teaching to you. Professors are arrogant, girls are fat, fraternity life does not even compare to private schools, the town is economically deprived, and its brutally cold during the winter. But all of that aside, I would not change my school because I'm getting a huge bang for my buck. In New York we're highly regarded and my chances at law school are almost equivalent to the looser from Cornell. So I rough it out no matter what. If you want a bang for your buck, Binghamtons your place.
