Major: English (This Major's Salary over time)
I had a great experience at DBU. Coming from a small Texas town, DBU was a great transition into adulthood for me. I was challenged academically, but at the same time, given the resources and guidance to succeed. If you want a quality Christ-centered education you should come here. If you don’t, then you should come here anyway because it well might change your life. People don’t realize how diverse the student body at DBU is. Around ten percent of the student body is made up of international students. I made a lot of great friends from other countries that really helped to widen my view of the world. The most valuable experience I had at DBU by far was the chance to study abroad in Taiwan for a year. If you really want to learn a language, I seriously urge you to participate in one of DBU’s many study abroad programs. After graduating from DBU, I went on to live and work in Mainland China for about two years (an opportunity I never would have gotten had it not been for the language training I got at DBU).As for real world preparation, this world may be secular, but don’t forget that at the end of the day, God still hasn’t gotten off his throne and he still runs the place”no matter what the secular world might try to tell you. I have found that DBU gave me more than enough preparation to succeed in the “real world.” I am on scholarship to one of the best law schools in the South, and am an intern at one of the most respected law firms in DFW.
