The school has a big population of commuters but they also have a lot of students living on the actual campus. Seems like everyone that lives in the dorms either is part of Greek life or on a Sports team. Sometimes i felt like half the school just drives to school goes to their class and doesn't even get involved with the school. Too many kids living their small town high school lives still. If you live on campus you'll get to know a lot of people and the school better, specially if you join a frat/sorority. The location is great 30mins you can be @ the World Trade Center, downtown Manhattan plus the train station is right on campus which is so convenient. The school itself is so clean and green. Landscaping makes it hard to believe that its located practically in Elizabeth NJ. Not to mention its a $25 fine to walk on the grass. The university is too safe,with about 20 full time working cops and a security force, you can't even get by walking a beer to your dorm without getting arrested. Kean Cops have a lot of time and don't play games. They arrest you in handcuffs, cavity search you, Mugshot&fingerprint you, chain you to a wall while interrogating you about your beer, and then they throw you in a jail cell overnight. You would think you murdered another cop the way they treat you. Then they send to you Elizabeth Criminal Court for your fines. Anyhow the education is great, the professors all have their doctorates from elite colleges and the class sizes are small even though there is 13,000 students. They have just about every major you can think of from Interior Design to Pre-Med. The University has def upped their standards and more people have decided to attend this University.
