It is now six months after I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a 4.0 GPA and a bachelor's degree in Public agency service and I still have not found a job. Almost seventy different employers have turned me down in the feidls of education and law enforcement.

As far as I am concerned, a degree from NAU is worse than useless since I wasted four years of my life, and gained a large amount of student loan debt in the process, for something that has not helped me. My wife never attended college and now she is a bank manager earning 40k per year, 10k more than a person who just graduated with a bachelor's can expect to earn.

A Public Agency Service degree from Northern Arizona University is worthless.

questionI know this may sound stupid, but have you applied to jobs that require a Public Agency Service degree? Law enforcement in AZ is hurting right now. You don’t need a degree to be in the law enforcement area, they send you to there own school, where you turned down because of other problems besides your degree? To say that 70 employers have turned you down is a lot of employers. I would venture to guess you’re applying at the wrong places, or not doing follow up.
responseHow does your cover letter and/or resume look? If HR is going through several applications, I can tell you that poorly written CVs and resumes have automatically put people in the "ignore" pile.
questionHi, my name is Anh and I'm a graduate High school student from Phoenix planning to attend an Arizona university in the Fall of 2010. My two choices are between ASU and NAU. I read your comment on NAU and I was just wondering how the environment and social atmosphere was like for you at NAU? If I head up to NAU, I would have to live in a dorm. Also, was the financial aspect of attending NAU demanding? For me, I have scholarships as well as grants to cover the majority of my expense at both universities. If you wouldn't mind taking the time to share some more of your experience at NAU it would greatly help me out on my decision and I'd love to hear your advice. Thanks in advance.
