Hi! Thank you so much for the review on University of Denver. Just for curiosity, I know I am not the snooty, close-minded type of person. I would feel more comfortable a friendlier environment. However, you mentioned that the student body is close-minded and snooty. So, is there a lot of exclusion at University of Denver if you are not a snooty or close-minded individual? How bad is it socially? Do you describe the student body as mostly elites? I am just very concerned here based on many reviews of the social environment. Academics are important too, but in order for an individual to learn and grow, I think an incoming freshman needs to be in a friendly environment in order to succeed. So, in your mind, is Denver University worth 46 grand a year? Thanks again! |
Major: Undecided (This Major's Salary over time)
Some of the students are complete dumbasses and potheads Some are brillant. As an institution, I did not like it. Very self-congratulatory. Does not have a lot of diversity [mostly white] and makes the few minorities feel like a number. A lot of rich kids, but also a lot of middle/upper-middle class. Drinking is a big deal. Has a good amount of clubs. For foundations, memorize the information for a short period of time and you'll be find. The freshman writing courses suck and are a basic waste of time. The dorms are nice. The RAs are pretty laid back. No curfew [although the doors do lock around 10 at the freshman dorms so you must be buzzed in]. Beautiful campus [although spending 40k on flowers alone should be beautiful]. Great gym. Decent athletics, hockey is a big deal. Living and Learning Communities are a great way to meet people straight off, consider joining one.
