Major: Chemical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
Overall WMU is a nice university. This is not the place to go to major in chemical engineering. Apparently, the paper engineering dept. is better. The parkview engineering building is very nice and there is ample parking for students. The CHEG curriculum is lacking, there are too few instructors and many of them are poor. That means that you will have each of these poor instructors for atleast 2 core classes. Students feel that they are pushed through the program. Often times, students can receive "good grade" but feel they have not learned the material. To some students this might seem great…to get an A in a class that they would not have passes at other universities. This whole program really cheats the students and the parents. If considering a career in Chemical Engineering, seek out other michigan universities such as UofM, MTU, or MSU.
