I've found that Tufts is the perfect mix of the very challenging and prestigious northeastern liberal arts university and a more laid back washington & lee type of place where the students are intelligent and strike up very interesting conversations one second and then go throw a football around the next without the ridiculousness of an extremely competitive university such as Uchicago or some ivy league schools. Rather than being cut-throat its very collaborative- people want each other to do well- plus the classes are difficult enough that ur aptitude differentiates you on exams and papers more than whether you studied all night and stole the pages out of the textbook so nobody else will know whats going on. basically its a good time
