Major: Other (This Major's Salary over time)
Careerwise there are many things I wish I had known before selecting a field of study and college. I was from a small town so had no guidance whatsoever.1) In high school I did extremely well so I believe I could have gotten a scholarship of some sort, but that was before computers were even in our schools so I had no idea where to look or what to do. I would encourage any student with any academic excellence or talent to seek a scholarship.2) I wish I had been told that not just a college degree is important, but the type of degree is what matters. So many people go to college and get a paper that takes them no where. If you are going to pour so much money into an education, make sure you get a degree that will ensure you a job that you will enjoy doing. 3) Start compiling references now.As for the school itself. My professors were very liberal so I did not like the way some used my paid classtime to make fun of God or ask us to watch what I would consider porn. I also wish that they had had some job referal or placement program upon graduation. There was no transition from the classroom to the career world.
