Major: Anthropology (This Major's Salary over time)
Made the mistake as a returning student of not researching my specific program (anthropology) very well. I had great grades transferring from a city college, was exceptionally open as well as bright, but chose not to apply to the UC's. I simply didn't understand yet that chosing a non-researching university would mean that my professors, unless brilliant and young, would be stale. My anthro major friends at UC Berkeley and the classes I took there through cross enrollment, stand out for their cutting edge theoretical relevence. I am not versed in any of the relevent current language of the field or social sciences. I have watched them go on to great grad programs, while my dreams of teaching as a university professor have been thwarted. I do wish, if attending a CSU, that people would take computer science or biology degrees if they wish to make any money at all.
