American River College

I attend American River College which is part of the Los Rios District. Arc is not the kind of school a real college student would want to waste their time on unless you dont have much of a choice…Like me for instance. Let met give you the low down truth on this place.

Arc is a quiet small campus that is safe in the day and possibly safe at night. The school police is always on the campus but thats not why the school is safe. Its safe because the students arent crazy or out of control. And that is where I will start. The students…

Students at ARC are like high school teenagers. Everyone there and I mean everyone excluding myself owns a cellphone. So when your trying to approach someone your likely to get a cell pulled out on you rather than a gun or knife. These people are really boring which means you'll spend most of your time seeing the same "sterotypes" hanging out together.

I feel like such a social outcast even though I would love to meet someone interesting while Im there. I just dont see any chance of that happening. These are the worst bach of students I've seen in years. I was looking forward to the real college experience…I had no idea these people could be this lame.

From time to time you might hear someone gossiping over their cell about something happening and expect to hear this allot from the preppy girly girls "Omg! She did?!" Yeah the typical high school talk. These no personality idiots will chat on their phone for 24/7 hours a day.

You can see it not only on the campus but all over this State. People at my college just dont have a social life with other people despite the sad fact they all lie about being outgoing. Sorry but the cellphone doesnt count.

Now onto the instructors. Instructors are basically careless here. They don't care if you pass or fail, unlike some colleges with instructors that will try to encourage you to do well if you fall behind. These instructors will give you constant lectures until you fall asleep. Then you have to remember all these lectures through note taking. Once thats done you take test every few weeks or at least once or twice every month. Instructors will tell you in your face that its your problem and not theirs when you fail. What caring instructor would bring their students down? Only at ARC you'll find this kind of disrepecting rudeness from instructors.

Any parties? No this is not a University school. Jr colleges are just like high school. Even the young 18 and 24 year olds refuse to take advantage of making their school fun. Its not impossible to do…Arc could be fun if the students would put down their phones for once,and just try to find ways to break out of their teenage body. Events are often held here but none that I would stick around for.

Falculty staff? Idiots…Just idiots. Especially in the Financial aid department. They will give you a tough time…watch out if you run into this hispanic or Indian lady that sits behind the desk sometimes with dark black hair. Shes such a D sucker. A complete pain in the neck.
