Coming from a large state school where I completed my undergrad degree, I could tell an immediate difference during my first graduate class at DBU. The professors were dedicated to serving the students. I loved the faith integration and how that played out in the classroom. It added value to what we were learning and we still learned everything I would have at a state school.

Looking back on my undergrad experience, I think I got a good education (academically), but not much else. I got so much more at DBU. I had role models as professors. They were individuals that I could admire and strive to emulate. They were well versed in their field and also offered encouragement to me to look beyond what I thought were my abilities to see what God might have planned for me. I had never thought of myself as a leader until I went through the program at DBU.

I loved too that my professors had actually worked in the field. They weren't just researchers of the discipline, they were practitioners. That makes a huge difference in the type of education you get. Sometimes the "theories" don't work in the real world. My DBU professors could tell us which theories worked and which ones didn't because they had been out there testing them in the workplace.
