Major: Art & Design Department (This Major's Salary over time)
I'm a political science/art double major freshman, and I hate LSU. A lot of it has to do with my hate for Baton Rouge, though. I've lived here for 18 years, and I absolutely despise this city. The people are extremely friendly, the food is great, but there's just not a lot to do unless you're 21 (or you have a fake id) and you like to party. Everything except the clubs closes by 11:00 pm. Arts and culture? It's all in New Orleans, even after Katrina. Classes are more challenging and creative than I expected, but there is *no* help with career services unless you're a business, chemical engineering, or landscape architecture student. If you're looking to get internships, study abroad, or get into a good graduate school, don't come here for political science or art. If you want to go to a huge party school that cares more about football than the state of the student dorms, then you definitely want to come here. There's always a party and the football games are a lot of fun. The education is pretty good, better than I expected, but after graduation what are you going to do? Baton Rouge doesn't have a good job market.
