Major: Agriculture/Horticulture (This Major's Salary over time)
For the eco-ag program at the north bay:

This program is not about agriculture or learning how to farm, but rather focuses on food systems, food security, community health, understanding basic growing techniques. It provides a very vague overview of agriculture and chooses to allow students to follow their own interests through an internship and year-long thesis project.

My biggest disappointment with the program was the lack of time spent on learning about actual food production as well as the logistical problems that seem to occur during every class.

If attending New College North Bay, expect the following:

  • nothing starts on time
  • few students arrive on time
  • faculty are slow to respond to emails or phone calls, one faculty member's voicemail is always full
  • students are extremely idealistic, almost to a point of being annoying in that there is no consideration for people living the status-quo
  • most BA students come from a place of privilege and have little motivation to be on time, finish assignments, attend class, listen to lecturers, etc
  • Ask a Question or add a response!
