I graduated from TSU in 2007, and I'm now in the process of getting a Ph.D. so that I can become a teacher back at TSU. Stephenville is really a great town to live in, and TSU exceeds every standard I had for a college town. I really love the fact that the university is still small enough (~10,000 students) that you really have a true family atmosphere on campus. I can't tell you how great it is to be able to run into all kinds of people that you know as you walk from class to class. At TSU, you're not just another number. If you show up to class and make an effort to be known, your professors will make it a point to remember you when final grades roll around. TSU probably has THE greatest traditions of any school that I have ever heard of (I even used to go to Texas A&M…TSU's traditions are better!!!). If you get involved on campus through greek life, student organizations, student activities, etc…you're sure to have an awesome college experience. I can't even begin to describe how awesome my freshman year was. The freshman experience at TSU is unparalleled. Sure, no college is perfect, but I'm convinced that TSU is the best place to go if you interested in being able to have fun AND get a degree. The teachers are awesome (Many of whom are TSU grads themselves), the students are cool, the campus is beautiful (I asked my fiance to marry me by the old canon on campus!!!), the town isn't too crowded and congested, the traditions are amazing (Just wait till you see homecoming week), the education is top notch, and (best of all) TSU isn't too proud of themselves (Meaning that the admissions criteria isn't outrageous like most other schools). I really think that you should give TSU a closer look. I'm sure glad that I did.
