I've lived in "the real world," and nowhere in "The real world" was I encountered by ghetto / poverty /"sir can I have some change!" kinda atmosphere that UC's off campus neighborhoods offer. The kind of urban blight and begging for cash on every block is a Cincinnati thing. I've lived in NYC and DC btw. The city that comes closest to being similar to Cincinnati is maybe Philadelphia. Diversity at UC is very 70's / Ohio Style. It's more or less defined as "black and white." If you're black, your obscessive viewpoint is "black vs. white." If you're white, you probably could give a $%$%. If you're not black or white, you're UC's invisible minority and you hang out in clusters of other international students. |
Major: Accounting (This Major's Salary over time)
My Co-Op experience was invaluable as it led to my first job. Also, the urban diverse environment prepared me very well for the "Real World".
