Date: Jan 14 2008 Major: Computer Science (This Major's Salary over time) Firstly, This school isn't for everyone. If you're the type who are : LIBERAL, PREFER CAROUSING AND PARTYING TO DOING HARD WORK, ARE INTO A SCHOOL AT LOOKS THE OTHER WAY AT SEX, DRUGS and ALCOHOL, Don't come to Grove City.Secondly, the school emphasizes a CORE CURRICULUM, where seminal ideas that relate to the founding of this country are taught. Other viewpoints are considered, discussed and debated, but the teachers make no excuse as to what their personal viewpoints are.Academically, the courses are rigorous and you only get good grades if you demonstrate that you know the material. There is no BSing and grade inflation is virtually non-existent.As a result of this, when I graduated and went to take my Masters in Computer Science at Carnegie Melon, most of the materials I learned in at Grove City were a smooth transition to graduate studies. The student population is mostly Christian. But You don't have to be a Christian to feel at home on campus. This isn't a school where people shove their religion down your throat. However, you do have to appreciate the fact that most of the kids here come from Christian families.I personally found college life to be great. I made a lot of life-long friends, the faculty members were all approachable, show that they care, and give challenging work. In other words, if you're in college to learn, there's no better place than Grove City. Finally, although Grove City is a small town, this campus has tons of activities you can be involved in. Sports, Arts, Entertainment, Politics, Debates, Trips, Missions, etc, they're all there for you. The Frat and Sorority scene are a bit tame compared to other party colleges I have to admit.I currently work as a Computer Systems Analyst for an energy company and the school prepared me very well for this well paying career.Again, you have to be a good fit temperamentally to like this school. Good luck.
