Rose-Hulman is the third school in which I have gone. I went to University of Pittsburgh for my first year and a half as well as taking two classes at Penn State. I can't emphasize enough how different (and better) this school is than any other school I have seen. I talk to my friends at engineering schools all over the country and it is pretty obvious who is learning the most (hint: not them). If you want to party, meet beautiful women, and engage in tantalizing community activities, don't go here. However, if you want the best engineering education available, you aren't going to find better…seriously. This is the only place around where the profs are there to teach and nothing else. Anyone who thinks the profs are poor hasn't gone to another school and been taught by someone who cannot speak English or relate to being new to the topic. The school also seems to be very good at teaching the theoreticals while keeping it related to real world situations. Expect that most classes will teach to a level much higher than many other schools. While this is really challenging, it has paid very big dividends for me in the real world (and I haven't even graduated yet). Nearly every day I am astounded at the quality of education I am receiving and am so happy I chose to challenge myself to be the best I could be.
