Major: Journalism (This Major's Salary over time)
I feel like Chatham is continually changing; therefore, making it completely hard to judge. I think it is up to the student herself on how she views the school—Quite frankly, I've had plenty of ups and downs here. I've even attempted transferring out, but decided to just stick it out. I'm doing much better now, though. I think Chatham is a different kind of university because it forces you to put the work in to make your major worthwhile—they won't spoon feed you your lessons or job. In the Journalism Department, we are taught from professionals in the industry. My academic adviser worked for CNN and many other big name news companies. She's not going to baby me in a journalism career, but she sure as hell can give some great advice on how to do it all. I think a lot of the problems we have are within communications between the administration and students. We have a lot of negativity in the student body, but we also are oppressed quite a bit by the administration. Honestly, I would have applied to more than JUST Chatham in my college search in high school if I were given the chance to go back. Granted, I'm pretty sure Chatham would have still been in the top 10 schools for me—I don't think it would have been where I would end up if I knew what I know now.
