I transfered out of Hunter College because of the poor level of academics. School is about mind expansion and I felt less pushed at Hunter then I do on my own. The intelligence of fellow students is outstandingly low. The comments they made were both irrelevant and frankly idiotic. However the student body is very friendly and doesn't take itself too seriously. The problem is my fellow classmates got shitty inner-city educations. To sidetrack: I went to a couple of schools around the country and witnessed the disparity in the educational level throughout the US, THIS MUST CHANGE. Teachers are understandably condescending (though really they should try to be less so) as many students don't know the basics and I think this is reflected in professor frustration and lack of enthusiasm. At times I even felt sorry for the professors. On the plus side, the campus is beautiful though neighboring Brooklyn is a dump that needs to shake it and organize a massive rebellion against economic slavery ASAP. Class sizes are small and they're taught mostly by PROFESSORS. The library is very modern and slick. The food is awesome (wonderful salad bar). Though be warned, the CUNY system is infamous for its bureaucracy! To note, this is a very liberal campus and isn't afraid to express it! Professors do not censor their views to appear more moderate. ADVICE: consider Hunter if you are looking for QUALITY education. Recommended professors: PoliSci- Francisco, Psychology- Abramov.
