Alfred State is by far a tremendous failure on my part to recognize the campus environment before committing to attend in the fall of 2007. I thought the campus would be fun, well maintained, and full of friendly, knowledgeable and balanced students to interact with. Little did I know that the majority of the students here are incapable of thinking outside the box, many of them were raised by alcoholics who passed the trait onto their offspring. The typical Alfred State student enjoys drinking Keystone Light

(skunk urine), and drives a Jeep or huge truck. Environmentalists need not consider this school, nobody here cares about anyone else other than themselves. Self centered personalities and very racist and sexist ideals are evident in conversation and behavior. Professors are intelligent, however, many of the engineering professors are not able to communicate very well. The liberal arts field here is not thrilling, however, composition professors and literature professors can speak English fine. The campus is run down, quite small, and the wireless constantly looses signal. Alfred State looses power many weekends, which does not affect half the student body, which usually leaves for home Friday after classes. Campus security is covered up, there are new security boxes outside just last month, and a rape story has apparently been covered up. My RA is very emotional and constantly strives to get laid on the weekend, which is a very hard thing for him to do. He busts any drinking, and is not a kind person. We need keys to open the main doors on our building at all times. It is an eighteen minute drive to Wegman's and Wal*Mart. I want to leave, however, my parents would like me to complete at least an associates before transferring, so I will be at Alfred for one more year. Please, do not apply to Alfred. My plan for a fun, exciting college experience has been crushed, and I am looking forward to getting a career as soon as possible.
