I think the U is great school, emphasis on school. If you are looking for a party school or a place with lots of activities happening all the time, you may be better suited for some other place. There are are activities to do, the football and basketball games are fun. If you enjoy the outdoors the access to world class skiing, hiking, rock climbing and outdoor scenery can't be beat. That being said Salt Lake isn't the most lively city, there are fun bars and places to hang out if you can find them. Overall I have really enjoyed attending the U and living in Salt Lake, but I've had to get my hands dirty at times digging for nightlife. It is out there you just have to look harder than in most places. I recommend the U unless you absolutely have to have a raging party scene.
