Major: Undecided (This Major's Salary over time)
GCSU has a very relaxing atmosphere. The campus is pretty and everything is located together so you don't have to walk all over campus to get from one class to another.PROS: VERY friendly staff and faculty. The administration staff is very willing to help and answer any questions. The food is pretty good so I would recommend a meal plan if you don't feel like cooking much. GCSU is affordable and the housing is updated and there are many housing opportunities in Milledgeville such as off-campus apartments, rental houses, and on-campus Residence Halls. The weather is warmer too compared to more northern schools of course. There are small class sizes for the most part and the campus is a pretty safe area. There isn't the hustle and bustle of city life so there aren't people overflowing all over the place and not a lot of noise.CONS: Not too much to do in Milledgeville. If you want to go shopping and see a movie or something the closest place is Macon which is about a 45 min drive. If you are the type to get bored easily then I would suggest to not come here. But if you are happy just chillin at your room with friends then this could be the place for you. Smaller towns also mean less job opportunities which make getting a job more competitive. The Milledgeville Mall sucks (the main "highlights" are JC Penny, Belks, Goody's and Office Depot). Oh yeah, there's not really any diversity either so if you are a minority seeking to experience more minorites, then don't bother. Everyone just about dresses the same too. Girls wear jeans, hoodies, baseball caps, and t-shirts. Nothing too special,Basically, you just have to expect some limitations in a smaller town unless you are willing to take the drive somewhere else. Don't expect much in the surrounding towns either. But compared to Georgia State (where I transferred to for 1 semester) I like GCSU much better because the people are friendly and it's a refreshing atmosphere.
