Major: Psychology (This Major's Salary over time)
I graduated from USF in 2005. Prior, I had spent a year at a community college. I grew up in central Florida, so the move was not a devastating one. A few of my high school friends also attended USF, but I met a lot of people outside of them-much more than I could have imagined. There is much to do around campus: movies on the lawn, intramurals, clubs, on campus jobs, even non-affiliated websites. There should be no student who sincerely has difficulty socializing. I recently moved to PA and am having people-withdrawals. My life now cannot remotely compare to living in Tampa in terms of things to do and amazing people to meet.USF apparently has the reputation of being "easy" to get in to, the programs are a joke…yadda yadda. I obviously have nothing to compare it to at this time, but other than the large amounts of students in my major, I would say the Psychology program was top notch-and I feel the school, on the whole, does not rate far behind. The faculty were highly educated and research participation was required for psych most classes. The library was amazing, in my opinion. It was undergoing aesthetic improvements around the time I graduated, so I can imagine it's even better now.Now I am sure USF is nowhere near a Harvard, but I feel as though it teaches students what collges are supposed to teach: academics, responsibility, self-discipline and growth, resourcing, etc.
