The University of Scranton embodies the word "community". It's big enough that everyone does not know everyone else's business, yet small enough that you cannot go anywhere without seeing people you know. The students here are the type to always wait a few extra seconds to hold a door for someone. Of course there's the occasional close-minded or snobby student, but that is hardly the norm here. Our new student center is beautiful, although somewhat masked by the deconstruction of our old student center. Once the deconstruction is replaced by a new grassy lawn, the aestetics of this school will greatly improve.Since the U is a DIII school, sports aren't huge here, although our excellent women's basketball team brings in a lot of fans. Many students participate in intramurals or club sports. Although we aren't a huge sports school, there is still a lot of school spirit, and everyone seems to love it here.
