Major: Economics (This Major's Salary over time)
The BIG POSITIVE: Whittier is a GREAT school if you are planning to study hard and try to get into grad school. All my close friends got into really nice grad schools. I myself got into a top-10 research university for the program of my choice. Professors really go out of their way to help you.The BIG NEGATIVE: If you are trying to get an industry job, you are better off at a larger university that attracts more potential employers. Whittier Career Fairs get attended by the Peace Corps, the Marines, the Red Cross and … that's about it. You will need to work EXTRA hard to get a decent job, but i know people who've done it.OTHER ISSUES: Student quality is mediocre at best. A lot of students don't belong there - they either cannot afford the tuition, or simply ended up at Whittier because no other school wanted them. In an average class, you'll experience a huge disparity between the intellectual levels of some students. The lack of creativity of studying is translated to the social scene - it revolves primarily around drinking, the dorms reek of weed, and it is generally a discouraging social setting.
