Never assume that because the folks at your career center get paid, it means that they are good at their jobs. Take job searching into your hands and be proactive. I would suggest looking for at the beginning of your senior year. I have been out of grad school for seven months and have not been able to find a science job. For all the scientists out there, just remember paycheck =/= competence.
