Oberlin was a phenomenal experience. I turned down more prestigious and recognized universities (including Duke and Cornell)to attend and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The faculty was incredibly helpful and friendly. The atmosphere encouraged students to try new ideas, new courses. I never lacked for things to do nor was I ever pressured to do things I didn't want to do. It was home in a way that no place was before nor has been since. Twenty years later, I'm still in touch with my college friends - and now my son can't wait to go!
